Shaista Ikramullah was a member of the Muslim League; a member of the first Constituent-cum-Legislative Assembly of Pakistan; Deputy Leader of the Pakistan delegation to the UN in 1956; and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Morocco in 1964. This book is an updated edition of her memoirs, first published in 1963. It is an extremely interesting account of how she moved on from a secluded and sheltered life in purdah to the hurly-burly of politics.
